The definition of “Drawdown” is the peak-to-trough decline during a specific record period of an investment, fund or commodity. A drawdown is usually quoted as the percentage between the peak and the trough.

One of the most common questions is what, if anything, can be done as the average investor has no control of the market and its fluctuations. While valid, the real question should be what, if anything, is YOUR advisor doing to help you understand those market fluctuations. Better yet, what are they doing to minimize your risk?
