Hi, I’m Wayne Bell-Warren, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Compliance Officer of Gainplan. Today we’re going to be talking about subscription fatigue.
OK, let’s be honest for a second. How many subscriptions are you currently signed up for? Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, Spotify, gym membership, Apple storage, that meditation app you used once, food delivery, clothing boxes, that random Wellness app that promised a six pack. Yeah, same.
In most financial check-ins, we find 3 to 5 reoccurring charges that people either forget about or rarely use. And while $9.99 here and $14.99 there might seem harmless, it adds up. In fact, the average person is spending over $300 a month on subscriptions alone. That’s $3,600 a year.
Now I’m not saying cancel everything and go live in the woods, but I am saying take 15 minutes this week, look through your accounts and cancel what’s not bringing value. And here’s a thought, what if you redirected that money?
Let’s say you cut just $5 a day on coffee or unused apps. That’s $150.00 a month.
What if you started a micro investment account with that, overtime that could grow into thousands, or fund your next side hustle, or cover vacation, or pay down debt faster? These small shifts in spending, they’re how we create real financial momentum. It’s not about deprivation; it’s about being intentional and investing in the life you actually want.
So, if your budget could use a refresh or you just want help building a smarter money system that reflects your values, message me. I’ve got tools for that and I’m always here to help.
